Ochanomizu University held its undergraduate open campus event from July 13 (Sat) to 15 (Mon), 2013. Over 7,000 examinees and parents visited the school despite the summer’s relentless heat.
At the general information session, President Sawako Hanyu gave an introduction of Ochanomizu University and a message to the examinees. Educational Affairs Board Director Hiroaki Mimizuka then briefed the examinees on various information such as the entrance examination system, Ochanomizu University’s distinctive Multiple Program Elective Course System and the 21st Century Liberal Arts Education Integrating Humanities and Sciences program, the university’s scholarship programs, and student housing. Lastly, the examinees listened carefully as Faculty Heads talked about their respective faculties and departments.
After the general information session, examinees went on to experience unique programs offered by individual departments, divisions and courses, such as simulated classes, student consultations, lab tours and more. Ochanomizu University students wearing pink t-shirts were seen all around campus, making every program a success and answering the examinees’ many questions.
Ochanomizu University plans to hold an open campus event next academic year also. Dates will be announced on the university website once details are available.
