? Lectures for undergraduate programmes at Ochanomizu University are conducted in Japanese.
Applicants who desire to apply for the undergraduate course must have sufficient Japanese competence for the lectures.
Applicants must be women who a) do not hold Japanese citizenship, b) either possess or are able to obtain the Status of Residence of “Student” according to the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, c) fall under the following categories (1) and (2) .
(1) Those who meet one of the following criteria:
① a) completed or are expected to complete 12 years of formal education in a foreign country by 31 March 2025 or b) have a certificate equivalent to the above-mentioned education and designated by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. (MEXT)
② hold or are expected to obtain by March 31, 2025 the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which is granted from the International Baccalaureate Organization based on the Swiss Civil Code.
③ hold or are expected to obtain by March 31, 2025 the Abitur, which is recognised as a qualification for university enrolment in all German states.
④ hold or are expected to obtain by March 31, 2025 the French Baccalauréat, which is recognised as a qualification for university enrolment in France.
⑤ hold or are expected to obtain by March 31, 2025 the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level or, the International General Certificate of Education Advanced Level which is recognised as a qualification for university enrolment in the U.K.
⑥ hold or are expected to obtain by March 31, 2025 the French Baccalauréat, which is recognised as a qualification for university enrolment in the European Union countries.
⑦ completed or are expected to complete 12 years of formal education in a foreign country by 31 March 2025 in an educational facility that has been accredited for educational activities by an international evaluation organization designated by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (WASC, CIS, ACSI, NEASC, Cognia, COBIS) .
(2) Those who have taken an Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) administered by Japan Student Services Organization. (JASSO)

Applicants who left a Japanese high school or hold a qualification which is equivalent-to or higher-than completion of a Japanese high school course cannot apply to this examination.
All applicants must take an EJU test.

Applicants for the Department of Physics and the Department of Nutrition and Food Science must take a TOEFL test.
Applicants must submit following two types of scores.
Posting the Official Score Reports to Ochanomizu university takes 6-8 weeks after the date of test. Please make a plan with enough time.

Documents that are postmarked Sun, 8 December or earlier in Japanese post office and sent by registered express post are accepted even if the deadline has passed.

(2) Certificate of (expected) graduation, academic transcript, letter of recommendation The certificate of (expected) graduation and the accademic transcript must be issued by the last school sttended, and the letter of recommendation must be written by a teacher at the last school attended. |
(3) Japanese essay A handwritten essay of less than 1000 words describing the purpose of studying abroad, contents of research field, future plan etc. |
(4) Copy of the examination voucher of EJU |
(5)* Application form for proficiency test (only Applicants for the Department of Performing Arts) |
(6) TOEFL Test Taker Score Report (only applicants for the Department of Physics and the Department of Nutrition and Food Science ) |
(7) Official documents necessary for identification Applicants living in Japan as of the application must submit Certificate of Items Stated in Resident Register and a copy of a residence card. |

The exam in Mathematics B covers Sequences.
The exam in Mathematics C covers Vectors and Curves and complex numbers on the plane.
Basic/Advanced Physics covers all topics.
Basic/Advanced Chemistry covers all topics.
Basic/Advanced Biology covers all topics.
Only for applicants for the Department of Performing Arts.
